Our Community
Winterton is a historic market town in North Lincolnshire, and All Saints’ has stood at the heart of its community for centuries.
Winterton is located seven miles north-east of Scunthorpe within the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire. The town has been a significant settlement in northern Lincolnshire over many centuries — a weekly market and annual fair were noted from as early as 1334, though neither still takes place today.
It is a mixed community which offers a range of small shops and local businesses, though many people work in the surrounding towns. There is a Church of England infant school as well as a junior school and a secondary comprehensive school. The annual Winterton Show is a major event, and there are many other community activities throughout the year.
There are many photographs of Winterton and the surrounding area on the Geograph website.
