Use of Cookies on This Site

This site uses a ‘session cookie’ to make sure your use of the website is not mixed up with anyone else’s. This is needed by the calendar package used on the site, and also if you log in.

The cookie is simply a short, unique string of characters stored on your computer. A matching copy is kept temporarily on the server while you are using the site, for comparison with the copy stored on your computer. The server copy is deleted about half an hour after you stop using the site.

The cookie contains no personal information about you whatsoever, does not identify you in any way, and is necessary for the site’s operation.

Data Stored in Log Files

The web server records website use for legitimate statistical and maintenance purposes. Log records contain IP addresses, and, for registered users who are logged in, their username. This data is only stored for a minimal time, as log files are regularly summarised statistically and then deleted.

Website Platform

This website was implemented using Webskein, from Melchior Online Limited. Webskein includes a toolkit which places the contents of a website entirely under the control of the organisation to which it is supplied. Webskein is supplied to organisations on the understanding that the content of their Webskein website is their responsibility, and theirs alone — Melchior Online Limited is not responsible for material uploaded to Webskein websites.

Organisations to which Webskein is supplied are obliged to keep all access codes for website maintenance confidential, and to ensure that the passwords used are of an appropriately secure quality.
